Kid Chess tournaments are rapid re-paired, which means no waiting around between games. If you’re coming to play, that’s what you’ll do!
All Kid Chess tournaments are unrated events. If you or your child are ready for USCF rated tournaments, please visit Chess.Zone to find local all-ages events.

Unrated Regular Chess Tournaments
Usual tournament times and sections are: AM Section: 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Check-in from 8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) PM Section: 1:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Check-in at 1:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m). Kid Chess Unrated Tournaments are Rapid Re-pair format, meaning students will playing their games with as little downtime between individual games as possible. Trophies awarded to all students with a plus score result. All other participants receive a medal.
Bughouse Tournaments
• All participants must have mastered how all the chess piece move to play.
• Participants need a partner for bughouse. It is recommended that they register with a predetermined partner. However, if a student does not have a partner before the tournament, we will assist them in finding one close to their grade level prior to the start of the tournament.
Regular Chess Tournaments
• All participants must have mastered how all the pieces move, understand how to castle, and be comfortable with checkmate to attend.
