About Kid Chess™
Started in 1998, Justin Morrison began Kid Chess™; as an instructional company for kids. Our main focus is on keeping the game fun for children while teaching them lessons that are important in life such as sportsmanship, problem solving, critical thinking, concentration, patience, attention span and other skills. Participation in chess has been shown to increase test scores in reading and math.
Over the years, Kid Chess has had the pleasure of working with many State Individual and Team Champions.
This program is run with great success and popularity in many Cobb County, Fulton Country, Cherokee Country, Gwinnett County, Atlanta City, and Private Schools (Full List of Schools). Kids love the program. Kid Chess™ offers after-school instruction as well as small group instruction, tournaments, summer camps, private lessons, and advanced lessons.
Our instructors are among an elite group chosen for their chess playing ability as well as their ability to work with children, parents, and schools, and each instructor must pass in-depth background checks.
Kid Chess™ has impeccable references that are available upon request. These include PTA Presidents and school Principals. Partners in Education with many schools, they donate funds, time, free classes, chess sets and other equipment, to PTA's Foundations, and schools. They also provide sponsorship to many other school fund raising events.
So why have children learn chess?

- Children learn to engage in deep and thorough chess research which will help them build their confidence in their ability to do academic research;
